Ante-natal clinics are held every Tuesday morning and appointments are available throughout the day for those who work. We do not provide domiciliary, intrapartum care as we use Nightline at night. However, we do provide complete post-natal care including new birth visits.
Health Visitors are based at Chatfield and run a baby clinic on Tuesday mornings between 9:30am and 11:00am. This is a walk-in service where baby's progress is monitored and immunisations are administered. This clinic is for well babies only. If your baby is ill, you must make an appointment with the doctor during normal surgery. The surgery runs a Mother and Baby clinic concurrently on Tuesday mornings where the doctor conducts baby development checks and routine care for the under 5s. You cannot make an appointment for this clinic. You will be sent an appointment before your baby is 8 weeks old.
We offer routine child and adult immunisations at the surgery which are mostly free and administered by our nurses. We also offer a full range of travel vaccinations (most of which have a cost attached), which you will need at least four weeks before leaving the country as you may need a course of injections. The Fit For Travel website has comprehensive information on the vaccines you will need for various countries. For information about children's immunisations, you can visit NHS immunisation website. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment with the practice nurse.
Minor Surgery is offered under local anaesthetic in our specialised clinic. Please book a routine appointment with the doctor to discuss this procedure. Coil fittings can only be booked through our administrator, Donna Howard. Please speak to our receptionists who will transfer your call.
Please check our alternative medicine pages for a range of services offered by a number of qualified, independent practitioners. These services are private and independent and are not part of the NHS services provided at Chatfield Health Care.
Carol Trayfoot is our trained in-house Smoking Cessation Counsellor who runs clinics weekly. You can book 30 minute appointments with the receptionist.
Our practice nurses run clinics daily and offer a variety of services. Please inform the receptionist which service you require, when making an appointment:
If you have asthma, chronic lung disease, high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes, you will be invited to make an appointment with one of our nurses, every 3 to 12 months for regular check-ups (including a review of your medication and lifestyle advice). Our nurses liaise with our doctors, where necessary.
